Caught in a moment of equilibrium, these Gucci Bamboo 1947 bags hang in the balance from asymmetrical frames created by set designer Imogen Frost. No two bamboo handles are the same, each meticulously shaped into a sculptural curve by the application of an open flame. Their idiosyncrasies reflect the unruly nature of an evergreen plant capable of growing at a rate of nearly a metre a day. A dynamic shapeshifter, it is used in the creation of paper, furniture, clothes and hats, and here exists at a serene juncture between the natural and the manmade. Unique bags for unique people who move with the times. ◉
