WORKING IT OUT

Can a uniform be fashion? Older, the Danish/Italian design company specialising in uniforms for restaurants and architectural institutions, and FACETASM, the Tokyo-based brand known for its playful, deconstructed tailoring, join forces in a capsule collection that explores this very question. Fluidly blending the distinct design codes of both brands, the collection boasts FACETASM's anarchic approach to silhouette and form while maintaing the precision and Made in Italy craftsmanship of Older’s uniform expertise. These are garments that are casual enough for everyday wear, yet formal enough to be worn as uniform, as they were in their Milan Fashion Week presentation. At Terroir, one of Milan’s most luxurious grocery stores, and Sandì, an interior design space housed in a former bakery, shop staff wore the pieces while serving customers, transforming everyday workspaces into a showcase of fashion's inherent dynamism. A striking reimagining of what it means to dress for work, it also marks Older’s first foray into retail. Next month, the designs will make their way to Tokyo, continuing their journey at the intersection of utility and style. .
